Credit Card 0 Interest Cards
0 interest cards offer you a fabulous opportunity to repay your debt. You can think of them as a little get out of jail free card that gives you a reprieve from paying interest while allowing you to get another credit card paid off quickly. The best way to take advantage of one of these deals is to find the card that gives you 0% p.a. on the balance transfer and a reasonable rate on purchases. These cards usually have other reward programmes but the real draw is the 0 interest on balance transfers.
0 Interest Cards:
* The ANZ Low Rate MasterCard is one of the 0 interest cards whose introductory period lasts for six full months. This period is a good amount of time to allow you to repay even a large debt from another card. Once you have done that you can look forward to a 12.74% p.a. on purchases and an interest free period of 55 days. The card has a $58 annual fee. They also offer three additional cardholders for free and a 20.99% p.a. on cash advances.
* The ANZ Balance Credit Card also offers 0% p.a. for six months but with that comes a truly valuable rewards programme. With this card every dollar that you pay to your balance, including the balance transfer and any interest or fees earns you one reward point. These points can be used for cashback, shopping vouchers, or gift cards. There is no cap to the points which means you can earn quite a few as you repay your balance transfer. Additionally there is a 13.74% p.a. on purchases with 55 interest free days and a $79 annual fee.
* A Citibank Clear Platinum Credit Card also carries the 0.99% balance transfer for six months. This card offers some valuable rewards but in order to apply you must have an income of at least $50,000 a year. The purchase interest rate is 11.49% p.a. and the annual fee is $49*.
Most 0 interest cards offer different rewards to lure customers. But the best reward of all is the ability to repay your debt without paying interest on it, even if it is only for a short period. The money that you save can go to the debt instead of interest allowing you to be free of credit card bills much faster then you ever thought possible.
